On Tuesday, August 15th, we are holding our 2nd annual Ultimate Food Rescue Challenge at Capo Restaurant, for foodies, press, sponsors and any one who wants to support hunger relief and have fun. The event, complete with a live auction, raises awareness of the twin problems of food insecurity and food waste in Massachusetts.
We challenge chefs to use a ‘black box’ of ingredients collected hours before the event, collaborate with other cooks in an unfamiliar kitchen and create tasty & unique dishes using ‘recovered’ food. We challenge guests to consider food waste in different ways – does that ‘ugly’ carrot lack flavor?
