What is the Ride for Food?

Fundraising Bike Ride – Five Years Strong!

Recognizing that hunger is widespread throughout our surrounding community and that community-based non-profits have limited resources to undertake large fundraisers, TSNE organizes an annual charity bike ride, the Ride for Food to raise money for local food pantries, kitchens, community farms and food rescue organizations.

In the Ride for Food’s first Ride for Food in 2012, 65 riders raised approximately $35,000 for the Dedham Food Pantry. The 2nd annual Ride raised over $123,000 to support hunger initiatives in Cambridge, Dedham, Jamaica Plain, Natick, Needham, Wellesley and Westwood, and on average returned 111% of every rider-raised dollar to our partner hunger relief organizations. The 2014 Ride for Food continued the growing success, and raised $210,000 for 11 area organizations. The 2015 Ride for Food expanded to 14 area organizations. Last year, 2016, we raised a record $465,000 and broke the $1M mark in funds raised for hunger-relief.

We are excited to host this year’s Ride for Food on Sunday, September 24, 2017. We have 18 amazing partners this year that help build a resilient and healthy food system in New England.

Friends – we need you! Help us make a difference in our communities and register for the 6th Annual Ride for Food Event Team. Registration opens May 1st, 2017.
