10, 25, and 50 Mile Rides on Sunday, September 24th Offer Bike Enthusiasts the Opportunity to Have Fun while Benefiting Local Hunger Relief Efforts
Dedham, MA – May 15th, 2017 – Registration is underway for the 2017 Ride for Food, a charity bike ride which supports 17 food pantries, kitchens, community farms and food rescue organizations in the Greater Boston areas. This year’s 6th anniversary ride includes a 10-mile course suited to recreational riders, a 25-mile course for intermediate riders, and a 50-mile ride for experienced riders. All rides start and end at the Noble & Greenough School in Dedham, MA and wind through surrounding local towns including Dover, Holliston, Medfield, Millis, Medway, Sherborn, Needham and Westwood.
The Ride for Food is organized by Three Squares New England which was founded in 2012 by a group of friends in Dedham to increase the capacity of hunger relief organizations by assisting with fundraising and awareness. Since its inception, the Ride for Food has raised more than $1.2M for its hunger relief partners.
“Every rider, volunteer and sponsor who participates in the Ride for Food believes that no child, adult or senior should have to go hungry,” says Kati Sigel, Executive Director of TSNE. “One day every year in September, hundreds of dedicated neighbors participate in the Ride to reduce food insecurity; but each day of the year, our partners, food pantries, kitchens, community farms and food rescue organizations, care for our underserved communities and do groundbreaking work to build a more efficient food system. On September 24th, we will celebrate the instrumental work of our partners.”

No one should worry about where their next meal is coming from, whether they’ll have a warm, safe place to spend the night, or how they’ll get treatment if they become sick.
